wie viele inzwischen wíssen dürften, habe ich einen Ruf an die Universität Passau angenommen und wechsle zum Somersemster an das Institut für IT-Sicherheit und Sicherheitsrecht (ISL).
Hier einige Informationen zu "brennenden Fragen":
Generell: Ich verschwinde nicht "von heute auf morgen" :-) , sondern werde auch noch mehr oder weniger regelmäßig in Stellingen sein. In Passau beginne ich mit einem Forschungsfreisemester, habe dort also im SoSe keine Lehrverpflichtung. Die zentralen Lehrveranstaltungen von SVS finden statt wie geplant.
Lehre im Sommersemester:
Folgende Veranstaltungen finden statt:
* 18.141 Praktikum: IT-Sicherheit
* 18.185 Projekt: Netzwerksicherheit
* 18.182 Projekt: Softwaresicherheit
* 18.090 Vorlesung: Grundlagen der Systemsoftware (GSS)
* 18.484 Oberseminar: Fortgeschrittene IT-Sicherheit
Folgende Veranstaltungen finden nicht statt:
* 18.123 Proseminar
* 18.168 Seminar Practical Insecurities
Prüfungen:
* Schwerpunktprüfungen etc. (mit unterschriebenem Prüfungsplan) nehme ich natürlich auch weiterhin ab.
* Neue Prüfungsverpflichtungen nehme ich nur noch in Ausnahmefällen an; Ausnahmefälle sind Studierende, die sich bei SVS engagiert haben, also z.B. ihre Diplomarbeit bei SVS anfertig(t)en.
* GBI: Ich nehme keine mündlichen Prüfungen mehr ab, es gilt die vom PA beschlossene Ersatzregelung.
Anm.: In der letzten Zeit sind regelmäßig etwa ein Drittel der angemeldeten Prüflinge einfach nicht erschienen; aus dieser Erfahrung heraus bin ich nicht bereit, hier (Reise-)Zeit zu investieren.
* Prüfungstermine: Es wird im Laufe des noch Jahres 2-3 fixe Termine in Hamburg geben; nähere Informationen folgen. Wem diese Termine nicht passen, bzw. wer erst 2009 geprüft werden möchte, muß vermutlich nach Passau kommen.
Anm: Ein ähnliches "Schicksal" hatte auch ich in meiner eigenen Diplomprüfung, mein Mitleid hält sich hier also in Grenzen :-) , außerdem ist Passau eine Reise wert...

| 4.06.2007 | | Neue GBI-Ersatzregelung | Short Info: | Am 23.5. hat der PA folgende GBI-Ersatzregelung verabschiedet, die nun auch den Erwerb eines Leistungsnachweises ("Übungsschein") ermöglicht:
Studierende im Hauptstudium der Informatik oder der Wirtschaftsinformatik können GBI entweder als Prüfungsleistung oder als Leistungsnachweis einbringen.
Für eine Prüfungleistung müssen beide Teilklausuren (GSS-Teil von Prof. Posegga und Datenschutz-Vorlesung von Herrn Schaar) geschrieben werden. Die Übungen gelten bei diesen Studierenden (im Gegensatz zu den BSc-Studierenden) nicht als Prüfungsvorleistung. Für einen Leistungsnachweis reicht das Bestehen einer der beiden Teilklausuren. | 11.12.2006 | | Open study group "CInsects" finishes sixth at iCTF | Short Info: | The UCSB International Capture The Flag (also known as the iCTF) is a distributed, international security exercise, whose goal is to test the security skills of the participants from both the attack and defense viewpoints.
The 2006 iCTF was scheduled Friday, December 8, 2006, from 5 pm to Saturday, December 9, 2006, 2am.
After a challenging competition the group was happy about finishing sixth out of 25 participating international teams.

Die dynamische Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet mobiler und ubiquitärer Technologien und ihre zunehmende Integration in das Internet haben ein völlig neues Anwendungsfeld entstehen lassen, das von hoher Relevanz ist. Die Verfügbarkeit von Standards, Infrastrukturen für drahtlose Dienste, neue Kommunikationsformen, und nicht zuletzt die weite Verbreitung von mobilen Endgeräten sorgen für ein großes Marktpotenzial.
Ziel dieses Tracks ist die Auseinandersetzung mit allen Aspekten des Phänomens „Mobilität“ und mobiler Systeme. Mit Beiträgen, die von theoretischen und technischen Grundlagen, über Geschäftsmodelle und Anwendungen, bis hin zu gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Konsequenzen reichen, soll insbesondere auch die zukünftige Rolle der Wirtschaftsinformatik in dieser Domäne analysiert werden.

Sicherheitsrelevante Themen von Informatiksystemen werden anhand von aktuellen Projekt-, Baccalaureats- und Diplomarbeiten und Dissertationsvorhaben vorgestellt und intensiv diskutiert. Das Seminar wird gemeinsam vom Arbeitsbereich SVA der Technischen Universität Hamburg-Harburg und dem Arbeitsbereich SVS des Fachbereichs Informatik der Universität Hamburg angeboten und soll auch dem Austausch der aktuellen Forschungsergebnisse zwischen den beiden Arbeitsbereichen dienen und die Zusammenarbeit vertiefen.
Das Oberseminar soll Studierenden und Promovierenden, die sich im Fachgebiet IT- Sicherheit vertiefen, eine Plattform bieten, um aktuelle Probleme und Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich IT-Sicherheit vorzustellen und zu diskutieren. Today’s electrical devices and computers get smaller and smarter every year, also the interconnectivity of those smart devices is getting higher. In the near future a lot of devices in peoples home would provide more service if they are connected to each other and the internet, the infrastructure could either be wireless or wired. To reduce the amount of re-wiring for a wired approach the power cables already in place could be used to connect the devices.
Power line communication has matured over the last years and the first devices are on the consumer market at prices below 100 EUR. (See www.homeplug.com for examples.)
In contrast to wireless networks which are only constrained by the senders power and the receivers ability to receive even the weakest signal, with great implications on the security, using power cables as a medium the attacker must again gain physical access to a wire.
But how far does the data travel on the power line, what are possible points for eavesdropping, denial-of-service?
