Project: BADO
Evaluating the support system for drug addicts
in the City of Hamburg
The BADO ("Basisdatendokumentation im Suchtbereich")
project statistically evaluates the usage and effectiveness of the
city's support system for drug addicts in the City of Hamburg, Germany.
More information on the BADO project can be found at the project's
home page.
For privacy protection the BADO project uses a well-defined and
strict procedure. This procedure ensures that personal data of drug
addicts who seek help in the city's support system is made anonymous
before being transferred to the BADO evaluating institute. In addition
to protecting the data of clients also the participating institutions
(which provide aid for drug abusers) are made anonymous to the BADO
project. The Security in Distributed Systems group (SVS) at the
Department of Computer science, University of Hamburg, assists in
the accomplishment of this (twofold) privacy protection as part
of the BADO Project.
