This paper illustrates some results of the application of a Multi-Agent System (MAS) approach to explore new model capabilities for dealing with commuting, accessibility and telecommuting adoption. As simulation by agents is gaining increasing importance in social sciences it is also affecting the very core of modelling activity in geography, although so far the full range of possible advancements is still unforeseen. In presenting the modelling experience an effort is made to address this issue and discuss a few implications of adopting a MAS perspective for coping with the complexities of urban phenomena.
