Abstract: Prot nets are an extension to Petri nets that support operational specification and object oriented programming, and that allow programs to be synthesized in a variety of environments. The authors present a graphical language, based on Prot nets, for discrete event simulation models, and illustrate its application to the simulation of a manufacturing cell.
