Abstract: An application of a modification of Petri nets to mathematical modeling of discrete production processes utilized for simulation of the flexible manufacturing systems is presented. The proposed algorithm makes the choice of a suitable control strategy possible in such a way that it automatically generates all potentially possible control strategies, automatically chooses the really possible ones, and gives an operator the chance to choose the most suitable realizable control strategy.
