Abstract: This paper presents a new modeling approach for object oriented design using Petri nets. Modeling procedures for methods, messages and data are presented. The approach is also used to develop the inheritance matrix for the object-class hierarchy. Possible applications of Petri net for modeling the parallel processing of object oriented systems is discussed. The paper concludes with a case study of automotive actuator design.
