An Assessment of Systematic Testing of Distributed Programs.

Dahmen, J.-H.; Heiner, M.

In: 1990: Informatik, Informationen, Reporte, Nr. 5, pages 67-81. Berlin, Germany: Institut für Informatik und Rechentechnik, 1990. In German.

Abstract: It is impossible to reproduce distributed processes, without a proper search being made as to the reasons for failure. One of the problems, time dependency, can be overcome by the Petri net theory, using instant replay. The arrangements for a test, instant replay, and the FEE signal concept, are described in detail. A Petri net model is also produced. Advice on rules for a new tool are given.

Keywords: distributed program testing assessment; instant replay; FEE signal concept.
