Abstract: The analysis of parallel stochastic processes in distributed computer systems enables the determination of performance and functionality. Model classes on base queuing networks and Petri nets are used. For description of net models and experiments the characteristics of both net classes are represented and a proposal for a common model and experiment description on base a general data structure is derived.

Keywords: analysis (of) stochastic process (in) communication system; performance; queueing network; local area network.
