Abstract: The Sequential Function Chart (SFC) has graphically constructed elements that make it easy to represent the sequencing functions of PCs. SFC is descended from GRAFSET, a similar graphic-oriented PC language. GRAFSET is a step-oriented control graph that evolved, in turn, from Petri nets. SFC functions are realized in the MELSAP Series PCs.
