Abstract: IDAS (Inter-Disciplinary Analysis System) is a multimode simulation system previously known as LENE, developed by the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany. With the application of Petri nets it enables all conceivable degrees of freedom for the formal description of technical systems. The author describes the IDAS operating principles, with special attention to the user interface. Its application in power electronics design is explained using the example of power convertor design in three stages.
