Inhibitor Arcs: A Philosophical View.

Kindler, Ekkart

In: Petri Net Newsletter No. 53, pages 3-10. October 1997.

Abstract: The author presents a philosophical view on inhibitor arcs and tries to reconcile arguments in favour and against inhibitor arcs. It turns out that some inhibitor arcs are operational while others are not, a distinction that coincides with the collective and individual token view, respectively. The choice between the two views is regarded as a matter of pragmatics, rather than personal belief.
