Abstract: One subclass of intermittent faults in computers is considered in order to demonstrate the use of Petri nets for the modeling of processes that produce these faults. The model is analyzed and the process parameters that influence the fault probability are determined. Some recommendations concerning the use of the models are offered.

Keywords: intermittent faults detection; fault probability.
