Abstract: Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) are used to model and analyze a real Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). First, Performance and Dependability evaluation are applied to a real-life system. We decompose a global system to reduce the complexity evaluation. Temporal analysis is used to derive performance measures such as the average production per day. Secondly, we propose a solution to increase the production rate by introducing buffers with finite capacity and a reorganisation of jobs on different production lines
