Abstract: In this paper we show how petri net representations of both algorithms and architectures can be merged to a net modelling the algorithm implementation on the given architecture. This net can then be investigated to indicate performance bottlenecks and give hints how to optimize the algorithm with respect to the architecture it is executed on.
