Abstract: A Petri-net-based methodology is described for modeling and evaluation pipelined processing of concurrent database queries in an integrated data network. An extended Petri-net model is proposed to model pipelined and data-flow-based execution of queries and data sharing among concurrent queries. A general-purpose Petri-net simulator has been developed using event-driven programming techniques.
