Abstract: Petri net-based sequence control software, called Station Controller (SCR) can improve the flexibility and maintainability of factory automation application software. Sequence control programs for Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) can be described intuitively using Control net (C-net), wich is a high-level sequence control language based on a Predicate/Event net (P/E-net). C-net can be directly executedby an interpreter installed in a 16-bit microcomputer system. This chapter briefly introduces several conventional models for specifying sequence control and describes some features and successful applications of SCR.
