Abstract: The automated system for the design of control units takes for its starting point the model of control based on an extended Petri net. The net comprises generalized transitions making it possible to perform complex activities with implicit timing, priorities associated with the sequence of firing of enabled transitions, and extra firing conditions. The automated design system contains a graphic editor for the construction of a Petri net graph. Having created the net, its automatic control can be performed and the net can be transferred into data structures which are processed by an interpreting routine.
