Abstract: This paper focusses on a petri-net based pilot behaviour model as part of the knowledge based Cockpit Assistant System CASSY. The model represents rule-based knowledge of commercial aviation pilots regarding plan execution. The modelling method and the applied modular constructs are presented. An overview is given to analysis goals and results and the used tools. It is shown that the net model was successfully integrated in the CASSY data processing by use of a real-time net interpreter. The presented system is an example for an industrial size petri net application
