Abstract: Computer jobs are executed in complicated operation flows to achieve high performance. On the other hand, a complex operation flow might cause degradation of total reliability because of increase in error factors. This paper proposes an automatic method for calculating the expectational time of job execution to evaluate such trade-off between performance and reliability. A job operation flow model by the extended stochastic Petri net is proposed; and the calculation method based on reachable analysis of Petri net is shown.
