Abstract: The aim of this book is to introduce to readers basic concepts as well as basic system models of Net Theory in connection with apllications. Important ideas behind these basic concepts are illustrated as much as possible. Emphasis has been placed on General Net Theory and its potential applications. The book consists of three main parts: (1) introduction, which includes mainly what is called ``Special Net Theory''; (2) General Net Theory, which includes concurrency, enlogy, synchrony and a bit of net topology and net morphisms; (3) application --- nets with individual tokens are introduced here and advantages of net models are discussed.
