Abstract: It was shown the way colored Petri nets may be applied to communication devices modelling. Models of Ethernet switch as well as server and workstation were constructed. Moreover, algorithms of dynamic maintaining of switching table were represented by colored Petri nets. For the simulation and analysis of the model the Design / CPN tool was used. Results were illustrated with model of concrete given LAN.
