Abstract: The technique for measuring of characteristics of switched networks' Petri net models with the aid of ad-hoc measuring fragments of coloured Petri nets is presented. The peculiarities of measuring fragments application were studied at the example of network's response time evaluation in the model of switched local area network. For the automated construction of the model in the form of hierarchical coloured Petri net and simulation CPN Tools was used. The model reflects such features of Ethernet as CSMA access procedures, full-duplex mode of data transmission and also provides an easy scalability at modelling of concrete LANs.
