Before you can use Renew, you must have Java 1.5 or higher installed. The installation instructions contain hints where you can find a suitable Java virtual machine.
Renew is currently available in version 2.2. You can download ...
- ... the base package in jar format (3888 kByte), which includes all executable files, the standard set of plug-ins, the documentation, and the example models.
- ... the base package in zip format (3888 kByte),
- ... optional plug-ins,
- ... a Mac OS X application bundle including all optional plug-ins (4680 kByte),
- ... the source package in jar format (4840 kByte), which includes the source files of Renew, but no executables and no documentation. You will want to install the source package on top of the base package.
- ... the source package in zip format (4864 kByte),
- ... the documentation in Postscript format (2816 kByte).
- ... the documentation in gzipped Postscript format. (640 kByte)
- ... the documentation in PDF format (976 kByte).
The jar format is the standard format for Java programs, therefore we recommend that you download the base package in jar format..
You can read about the installation process now, but the installation instructions are also contained in the documentation and in the file doc/README.
The base Renew distribution consumes about 4.5 MByte. The source distribution adds another 12 MByte to that figure. Compiling the source will generate additional 13 MByte, and the full JavaDoc will occupy approximatly 45 MByte.
In our archive section, you can download old versions of Renew, if you really absolutely feel the need to do so.
