A MULTICONFERNCE
The 2001 IEEE Workshop on Petri Nets and Performance Models (PNPM 2001)
will be part of a multiconference and held together with:
- the 11th GI/ITG Workshop on Measurement, Modelling, and Evaluation of
Computer and Communication Systems (German GI/ITG-Fachtagung
Messung, Modellierung und Bewertung von Rechen- und Kommunikationssystemen),
MMB 2001,
- the joint 9th International Workshop on Process Algebras and Performance
Modelling and the 3rd International Workshop on Probabilistic Methods in
Verification, PAPM/ProbmiV 2001.
CONFERENCE HOMEPAGE
http://pnpm2001.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/
Central web site for PNPM 2001, MMB 2001 and PAPM 2001/ProbmiV 2001.
Here you will find up-to-date information, ps- and pdf-versions of the
Call For Papers, and more.
The ps-version of this Call For Papers is also in the attachment.
SCOPE
The objective of the PNPM workshop is to be the major forum for the
presentation of original contributions in the areas of timed and
stochastic Petri nets and their applications.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Analysis and simulation methodology;
- Largeness, stiffness, non-Markovian models;
- Quantitative and qualitative aspects and their relation;
- Real-time aspects;
- Connection with other specification techniques;
- Computer tools and general-purpose modeling frameworks;
- Performance and dependability evaluation;
- All kinds of applications in communications, real-time and
embedded systems, computer systems and architectures,
manufacturing, logistics, workflow, business and others.
REGULAR PAPERS
Regular papers shall be written in English and should not exceed 20
double-spaced pages. Please follow the instructions for electronic
submission given on the Conference Homepage. The final version will
be limited to 10 pages IEEE double column format. Papers must be
unpublished and must not be submitted for publication elsewhere.
All papers will be thoroughly reviewed by at least 4 referees
appointed by the Program Committee in order to identify their
originality as well as their scientific and practical contribution
to the state of the art. A selection of papers will undergo a second
review for publication in a special issue of IEEE Transactions on
Software Engineering.
SHORT PAPERS
A short paper session will be organized together with all workshops of the
multiconference. The intention is to present work in progress/recent
developments/research plans. Short papers, not exceeding 6-8 pages,
will be published in a technical report, and will be distributed to all
conference attendees. Presentations will last 10 minutes.
Please follow the instructions for electronic submission given on the
Conference Homepage.
TOOLS
It will be possible to present and demonstrate tools relevant to all
workshops of the multiconference. Please send a tool description
(up to six pages, ps or pdf) to the tools chair Peter Kemper
(kemper@ls4.cs.uni-dortmund.de). Accepted tool descriptions will be
distributed to all attendees. Tool presentations will be about 10 minutes.
TUTORIALS
Introductionary and advanced tutorials will be organized on September 11, 2001.
Please send a 2-page tutorial abstract, indicating theme, speakers and
relevant literature to the tutorial chair Holger Hermanns
(hermanns@cs.utwente.nl).
