This review is from Gramophone, March 1966:

… In spite of that I preferred the Topic Sampler No. 2 (Topic TPS145). On this there is no song less than a hundred years old and one or two of the tracks are far from perfect, but the record is full of variety and life. Stan Kelly, the Watersons, Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger, Dominic Behan, Shirley Collins, Ray and Archie Fisher, A.L. Lloyd, Hedy West, Tom Paley and Johnny Handle are represented by some of the best tracks they have recorded for Topic. The Ian Campbell Group and The Spinners are here too; the performances are good but they were less lucky in the way they were recorded. Still, this is a fine record and presents the non-pop aspect of the British folk revival as well as any record could.
