Only a Shot in the Dark
[Trevor Lucas]
Trevor Lucas wrote this song for the movie Slate, Wyn and Blanche McBride (see Breakaway). It sees Trevor's return to his Aussie humour in songs he used to sing with Fairport Convention. Who remembers Raining Virgins, his party piece from 1972? It went “If it was raining virgins, I'd be locked up in the dunny with a poof! Where I feel my heart's blood surgin', all the sheilas they tell me to bugger off.” Well, this is the same laconic style and just as politically incorrect. - Available on the cassette Together Again - The Attic Tracks Vol. 4.
