Abstract: This paper analyzes a particular resource sharing situation which appears in the SPN model of production systems, for example, in the kanban systems with with two consumers and two suppliers. This particular subsystem is analyzed in isolation under a load-dependent Poisson arrival process. The analysis is presented for three conflicting control policies. The paper describes two methods of analysis and compares the performance of these methods in terms of robustness and rapidity.
