Abstract: This chapter deals with a. modeling and scheduling flexible and agile manufacturing system (FAMS) using AGVs, and b. re-scheduling the system in the case of trouble, by using Timed Petri Net (TPN ). The purpose is 1. to provide a solution to the coordination problems of AGVs transferring a series of jobs to the appointed machining cells so as to minimize the idle time of each machining cell and total job processing time without collision of AGVs, and 2. to generate quickly another substituting effective schedule in the case of troubles of the FAMS, especially troubles of AGVs.
