Abstract: The RdPIC model (coloured interpreted Petri nets) is proposed as a design tool for the modeling, analysis and behaviour evaluation of flexible systems of discontinuous production. The authors recall the main characteristics that they wish to find with such a tool. Then, starting from the primitive Petri nets model, the authors define some extensions allowing the RdPIC to respond to the requirements outlined. Certain aspects of these extensions are illustrated within two examples.

Keywords: net extension; production systems; coloured interpreted net; flexible manufacturing system.
