Abstract: This paper presents FPM (fuzzy Pr/T net-system model), a fuzzy extension to the standard Pr/T net-systems. FPM is effective in the knowledge representation and processing of the fuzzy production rules in knowledge-based systems. A fuzzy reasoning algorithm for FPM is also proposed. Our work originally generalizes the Petri net-based fuzzy knowledge representation from the level of propositional logic (corresponding to the fuzzy P/T-nets) to that of first-order predicate logic (corresponding to the fuzzy Pr/T net-systems). The formal description of FPM and the reasoning algorithm are described in detail.

Keywords: T-invariants, approximate reasoning, fuzzy nets, fuzzy production rules, knowledge representation, predicate/transition nets.
