Abstract: A parametric model Petri of a single-level switched local-area network is represented. A model allows the buffers' sizes and processors' numbers limitation as well as discipline FIFO realization for queues. An automatic measurement of the network response time is provided during imitation of model's behavior. For these purposes special measuring fragments of Petri nets are used. Questions of state-stable mode existence for local-area network dynamics as well as the dependence of network response time on characteristics of hardware and software used are investigated. Results are represented in the form of diagrams, graphs, and tables.
