The Department of Informatics is part of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics und Natural Sciences at the University of Hamburg. It is one of the larger Informatics departments in Germany and excels in teaching and research with its broad and modern profile.
We offer several interesting Bachelor and Master degree programs in German language. Furthermore, there is the English research-oriented Master course “Intelligent Adaptive Systems”. We aim at a high quality of our teaching and operate a teaching evaluation system.
Our research activities cover a variety of areas including cooperations with partners in science and industry both in Germany and abroad. The International Graduate College “Cross-Modal Interaction in Natural and Artificial Cognitive Systems” CINACS and our technology transfer organization “Hamburger Informatik Technologie-Center e.V.” HITeC may serve as examples.
